Another fun engagement during the holidays. Becky and Steven had a great idea to shoot for their table set-ups. We shot so many different looks from holding numbered signs, numbering the sand and spelling out numbers with their bodies. I can't wait to see how it turns out at the wedding. These two had so much energy during the shoot I hope the energy stayed high for the long drive home to northern California that night. Below is some of the chaos...

Chad & Karli at the San Juan Mission
This passed weekend I was able to shoot an awesome couple's engagement at the San Juan Capistrano Mission. After purchasing a million dollar liability insurance for Studio 7 the Mission allowed us shooting there...for a small fee of course. Chad & Karli are getting married in San Juan Capistrano so they thought the Mission would be perfect and they where right. It was my first time back to the mission since a field trip in the 4th grade. The place was so sweet and this couple made it so much fun. Their jumping in window sills, climbing on old walls and not being afraid to show their love for each other allowed us to get something special.

Dave & Kristen
What a personal wedding! My friends Dave and Kristen got married on Sunday and I had to grab my camera and take some photos for them. What can I say it's in my blood. It was in Dana Point at Heritage Park and the weather was perfect. It rained the day before which got rid of all the dirty air. Anyway, these two lovers are a class act. I wish them all the best in their new lives together.

Papua New Guinea
I just got back from my three week trip overseas and wow what an adventure. We have it so good here in the US. In PNG it is a luxury to have indoor plumbing, electricity, a car, money or even a soccer ball. Less than 10% of the country has a job but most of the people live off the land hunting and farming their own food. The people are so much fun and have a great sense of humor. Everyone we met greeted us with big smiles. It was very humbling to see them live so simple and be so happy.
This was the river we stayed next too. One night after it rained we took a 1 hour float down this thing. We were scared for 59 minutes of the ride because the water was so brown and we thought we saw a crocodile.
Mosquito nets were a must.
I love the boy in front pushing a wheel with a stick. Oh the days before video games and organized sport...

Chris & Dana
What a night! Chris and Dana got married at the LA Arboredum and what a beautiful day. Perfect fall conditions with sunny skys and crisp cool air. This is my last post before I leave for Papua New Guinea Sunday night with my church. I'm so glad I was able to do this last wedding before I leave the country for three weeks. Below are some highlights...

The Powder Room
Mandy from Dragon
Yesterday was a wild but, super fun beauty/fashion shoot. I shot with Diana from Jet Modeling Agency and Mandy from Dragon. The shoot was basically for me to test and work with creative people for upcoming commercial shoots. I sent the photos to NY to my retoucher so I should have the final product in a couple of days which I will definately share here.
Mikey T
Talented photographer, Mikey Tnasuttimonkol, just got back from Puerto Escondito with some sweet images for Australian Riptide Magazine. He barrowed one of my water housings for the trip so he dropped it off today and we had lunch. His website is www.avisualthought.com. I can't wait to see the updated site with all his new images. He still uses film 99% of the time which give his images a very natural look. He just bought a new Contax rangefinder film camera that made me jealous.
Tree Art
Just Sunday while on the way to a meeting, a tree next to some posts in the ground caught my eye. It's always good to carry a camera in the car just in case a photo opportunity arises. With a couple of clicks in photoshop this tree became fine art. Next time there will hopefully be people in the image to add personality.
Red Sun
The other day I was out for a stroll and notice it being a bit darker than usual. The sun could be seen behind a thick cloud of ash and smoke. I new the fires burned up most of Southern California but I wasn't expecting a red sun. I quickly grabbed my camera and shot this fire ball but then went exploring to see if I could find any fire here in San Clemente. There were firemen in Camp Pentleton lighting back fires which made for some interesting photos.
